I am in my third year, when I came in there was no gate , the school actually paid to attend tournaments and there were 7 players on the boys team, no girls team and the they had won only 2 games the year before playing on a very low level. We now feature over 50 players (Girl’s/Boy’s) in the high school programs alone. - Shoe and Bag Contract with Adidas, Full Sponsorship - Schedule includes many of the top teams in the nation including; Oak Hill Academy (3 times), Mt Zion (2 times). Black Hills Posse, Rapid City SD -Free Agent Camp Coordinator/Scout - Serve in a part time capacity helping head coach Duane Ticknor coordinate free agent camp and formulating scouting reports on players of other teams and players becoming available to the Posse. Black Hills is a member of the International Basketball Association and made it to the finals this season. 97/98 season Florida Beachdogs, West Palm Beach Florida -Scout - scouted future opponents for Coach Eric Musselman while they were playing the Sioux Falls Skyforce or Omaha Racers. Florida was a member of the CBA and made it to the league finals against Oklahoma City in the 96/97 season that I served. Rapid City Thrillers, Rapid City SD - Promotions Coordinator/Special Assistant Coach - I served under head coach Eric Musselman as his summer camp and game promotions coordinator, I was also called in to help with video and playoff scouting. I was offered a full time assistant position but had to decline due to being a head local high school coach at the time. (Pine Ridge) Collegiate Coaching Experience Huron University - Huron, SD - Associate Men's Basketball Coach/Recruiting Coordinator - I served in this capacity from 5/91 - 4/92. My duties included; game coaching, practice planning, academic monitoring, and speaking at weekly booster club meetings. We finished 19 - 7 and runner up in the SDIC, NAIA District Runners-up. I shared the coaching responsibilities with Jeff Wepking who was a fulltime high school teacher in another town. National College - Rapid City, SD - Asst Men's Coach/Head JV Coach/Dorm Director/Intramural Director - I served under head coach and athletic director, Duane Ticknor from 9/85 - 5/87. My duties included recruiting, on floor instruction, coaching JV team and serving as academic liaison. Outside of basketball, I also ran the athletic dorm and served as intramural director. Head Coach - Jammer's 17-under AAU Boy's Basketball Team - 5/98-7/98 - Coached a group of high school boy's from 4 different schools to a number 2 finish in the State AAU Championships Viborg High School - Viborg, SD - Athletic Director/Head Girls Basketball Coach/Golf Team Coach/- I worked part time in these coaching/administrative capacities during the 97/98 school year while running my business in Viborg. I have also worked to get AAU summer basketball and camps started in the community and formed the first golf team at the school. Head Coach - Harrisburg Tar Heels AAU Team - I coached a 17 - under boys AAU team during the summer of 95. Our team featured many of the top underclassmen in the State at that point including; Bobby George (Lincoln), Brad Hansen (Lennox), Matt Wilbur (Dell Rapids), Matt Geever (Rosevelt) and Brad Voss (Lincoln). We finished second in the state and qualified for the AAU National Championships. I came in second semester of 93/94 school year and took over a boy's team that was 1-7 and 0-3 in the conference. We ended up a regular season Conference Champs and finishing third in the State Tournament (ACSI) losing in the semi finals to nationally ranked Mt. Zion Christian (Tracy McGrady) in double overtime. We also had a young man make Sports Illustrated by setting the NC Single Game Scoring Record with 70 points. We were picked as number 22 in the pre season top 25 poll conducted by USA Today for the 94/95 season; however I stepped down two weeks before the season for family reasons to return to South Dakota. Charlotte Lady Stars AAU Team - Coached Charlotte area 17- under all star girls basketball team to third place state AAU finish. – Spring/Summer ‘94 Pine Ridge High School - Pine Ridge, SD -Athletic Director/Head Girl's and Boy's Basketball Coach/PE Teacher 10/92 - 5/93 - I coached boys and served as a substitute teacher my first season commuting from Rapid City to Pine Ridge each day (200 miles rt) My boys finished as District Runner-up to Red Cloud. The following season I was asked to move to Pine Ridge to serve as the athletic director/PE Teacher and take on the girls head job as well. My girls finished 18-2 losing to Red Cloud by 2 in the District Championship. Cardinal Gibbons High School - Raleigh NC - 90 -91 school year – Interim Athletic Director /Head Girl's Basketball and Soccer Coach/Health/PE Teacher - Girl's Basketball team finished 21-6 losing in second round of State Tournament. I left for the Huron University college job. My first head coaching job out of college. We won both varsity conference titles, 1 JV title and finished second with our boy's JV.
